My back had been sore from nursing my baby and I needed some relief. I overheard someone talking about these torture mats and was at the point where I'd give anything a try. I did some research online and found that quite a few brands had been tested and the HemingWeigh made the top three. Among those, it was the most affordable. I need affordability in my life. And back relief. So I convinced my husband that it was all I needed for Christmas. This was the best gift I've ever made him get me.
I was nervous about laying on it at first, obviously all the little dagger-like flowers on it were intimidating. I held my breath and went for it. To my surprise, it wasn't that bad at all for basically laying on the underside of a million tiny sharp golf shoes. After a while it just felt wonderful. I can honestly say I crave it every day. I lay on it after my night time shower before bed. I feel so relaxed, the second time I used it I fell asleep on it and woke up an hour later, and then easily fell asleep for the night.
It has helped my back pain so much. My husband even noticed I don't complain about my back as much. I got brave and tried it on my stomach. Again, I fell asleep and woke up an hour later. Within a week of praising my torture mat, the husband gave it a go. He must like it because he keeps using it.

The first time you lay on it, it WILL HURT. It is tolerable, but it hurts. But...about halfway through the 10 minutes, it stopped and I got a warm, fuzzy, relaxing feeling. I've been doing 10 minutes and each time, its easier and when I finish, I feel loose, relaxed and my back and muscle pain feels much better. I'll be increasing my time soon. If you have wanted one of these, please do not hesitate.
My back pain and hip pain has been reduced by 75%, just by laying on this 20 minutes a night, on the floor. I have not gotten any relief in my neck, so I can not speak to any other body parts. I also have a son who works for FedEx, and he says this has helped him a lot as well, to relax and sleep well at night, due to before he had a lot of leg cramps. It is very strange the first time you lay on it, as it sorta hurts, but not really. I do not advise that you move around while laying on it, as that is what hurts. The first time I left my shirt on, and then after a few times, I was able to use it on my bare skin by just wearing a sports bra, or simply lifting my shirt up. I lay it on the floor, and watch tv for around 20 minutes and that helps me to not have my usual leg cramps at night, and throbbing hip pain. This really is fantastic!
Was a little concerned about just how uncomfortable I thought this would be, I was wrong. It does take a little getting used to, but follow the directions and you won't be disappointed. I first tried with a t-shirt on, then got brave and went naked. I must say naked is the way to go. Just lie still and you will feel your body have a gentle warmth develop. I now regularly nap with this. It's refreshing.
